What is myofascial taping?
Myofascial Taping according to Markus Erhard (MTME) is an advanced and unique method designed to influence and regulate the tension in muscles and fascia. Through targeted taping techniques, the fascial tissue is adjusted in a way that changes or reduces the tension and pressure within the myofascial tissue. Since pain, injuries, and movement restrictions are often associated with increased myofascial tension, this technique can be used to treat such conditions.

How is myofascial taping applied?
Myofascial taping uses a special tape with a particularly strong acrylic adhesive. This tape can exert sufficient tension on the fascia and remains effective for several days without restricting everyday or athletic movement. Showering and swimming are possible with the tape on. Through functional and movement tests, the fascia tissue responsible for the complaints is identified, allowing the tape to be applied precisely to the affected structure. The tape enables the fascia tissue to be shifted in the desired direction, helping to normalize myofascial tension. A myofascial tape application can typically remain on the skin for three to seven days or longer. Often, taping is applied at the end of a manual therapy treatment to support the effect, although myofascial taping can also be performed without prior treatment.

MTME is considered a groundbreaking and innovative taping method that significantly differs from traditional kinesiology taping. Please bring all previous diagnoses and findings to your first session.
